Made this chart after plugging in the past month of community approved newgrounds game scores into a spreadsheet. Was working on understanding my arcade game "Super Burst"s score in relation to the platform and my awesome peers, who are doing great work over at #newgrounds :D #indiedev #indiegamedev #arcade #web #indiegame.

I still have my sheet and some more interesting data too, like for example the Sample Standard Deviation of the set being 0.55 and the average score 2.87

Happy to say my arcade game ranks 44th highest Rated Game out of the 363 latest games shared this past month to #Newgrounds 🥳

That puts it in the top 12% of August, based on scores I manually plugged into a spreadsheet last night😄

Took the time to build the sheet to gain some context/insight for my scores.

The previous version scored 2.76/5 and this version at the moment sits at 3.56/5, solid improvement!

I used to use #deviantart until like 1 or 2 years ago, even though at least to me it had been looking pretty dead since I joined in 2016 or so and even deader each year. Specially after they changed the UI. Then they started doing fuckery with AI and I decided to ditch it completely, I haven't uploaded art to it ever since.

It was a neat place to organize my art, a showcase. Not a place to grow in but a good gallery to link to. Now I don't have that. Trying to replace it with #NewGrounds .

#Mastodon is a great concept and I hope it does well whether I use it or not. But lately I don't know if Mastodon should be my prioritary platform, from a point of view of "I wanna be known and get commissioned n' shit, both short and long term."

#bluesky in my head is constantly flipping between "oh, cool people in it" and "eugh, twitter 2". I don't want to use it but I'm afraid I'm missing out on an important opportunity to grow if I don't.

#newGrounds is cool. Kinda its own niche.
