Wilson’s reading of “Strange Fruit” establishes a traditional benchmark, before the set surprises with renditions of U2, Hank Williams and Neil Young – all of which work thanks to Wilson’s wry delivery and a large crew of session pros able to meld blues, jazz and pop.
