Cultural burns, buying our own water bombers, mass evacuation centres, seed banks, under grounding power lines, areas of biodiversity mapped out that must be protected at all cost, advertising encouraging volunteers to join emergency services, loitering drones that provide mobile reception. National coordination that ignores state boundaries. Putting politicians and journalists in stocks if they say it’s natural and it would have been ok if not for all those pesky arsonists. ABC Australia used to be a media broadcaster that would bring Australians together socially and with balanced news and thoroughly researched information.
However, under the management of #NewsCorpse poisonous personalities Ita Buttrose, David Anderson and Justin Stevens, it has become a shell of its former organisation, full of right-wing opinions, dumbed-down reporting and narration of conversation that promotes racism and division. Those three have done such great harm to Australia that it is impossible to put a cost on it. And the current government are doing nothing to improve the situation.
