The (still experimental) #NewsCoSocial server is now running Lemmy v0.18 https://news.cosocial.ca/post/8753
For those on #CoSocialCa who are testing holler if something that was working stops working.
@matthieu_xyz @dweb groups are a different form / usage that aren’t the same. We’ll need to work on solutions for both.
We’re currently tagging the #DWeb group on #NewsCoSocial - that will reach opt-in people only.
Especially if the group posts don’t use hashtags! (Which they should if they want discoverability)

@liaizon I do see it, it did make it's way to #NewsCoSocial https://news.cosocial.ca/post/2676, just not all the comments coming over (looks like only kbin comments)

#NewsCoSocial is experimental right now, mostly as we see how we can run it and moderate it from remote posts.
All members will be able to login to whatever we run.
It turns out I can do extremely long posts by posting to #NewsCoSocial
Here's my response to a thread from a Lemmy.ca users asking about how all this fediverse stuff works and who pays for stuff.
Gave me an opportunity to talk about #CoSocialCa and how we're structured, as well as personally donating to LemmyCa through their Open Collective
