Lower California as it was known since the #NewSpain era, is now divided into #BajaCalifornia and #BajaCaliforniaSur (we don't call it 'Baja')
It has a brief listing of seemingly all baptism/marriage records available as well as origins of common surnames and family tree interviews

King Carlos III put Sesse in charge of #Plant #Exploration in #NewSpain. The expedition would last over a decade.
Sesse put together an #ATeam of #Botanists, including José #Mociño & Vicente #Cervantes.
Sesse wrote a #Flora of Mexico, created #Stunning #Botanical #Art & established the Royal #BotanicGarden of #MexicoCity.
Today Sesse is #Remembered in a dry #Gin made in #Madrid. It's has a beautiful #Blue label.
