@copsewood That's true, but my story involves humans. I wasn't talking about relativistic effects or infinite acceleration. I assume limits on acceleration, i.e. drive force, and limits on compensating for the effect of acceleration. Just making the point that if the pursuer is going at 4 G and the pursued is accelerating at 3 G, the pursued with a head start is still going to pull away for a while. Acceleration is not the same as speed. That's why I hashtaggd #Newtonian mechanics.

#Newtonian mechanics: So even though the pursuing ship has a faster drive, the head start of the pursued ship means it is pulling away from its pursuer. It will take several minutes for the faster ship to start closing the gap. Relative velocity and acceleration are two different things. This can add some tension to a #spaceChase #amWritingSF

It’s a #foss 6dof racing game with a #Newtonian flight model similar to #EliteDangerous.

It does have a #Linux version but the world gen lib is single threaded on Linux so Proton may be a better choice for now.

It also features access to full ship telemetry and head tracking including OpenTrack via UDP thanks to my nagging 🤪

No idea about VR. Apparently it works but I can’t test that.

I only have old (but decent) #telescope gear. I have a decently mounted 6 inch f/5 #Newtonian for example. The mount is a motor driven but manually controlled #EQ.

From what I'm seeing, to get to a point to get digital photos through an #AutoTrackingMount, I'd need a new electronically controlled mount, an #autoguider, and a #DigitalCamera capable of time exposures. Right?

That would easily cost 2k or more from what I see.

Am I seeing this right?

#Newtonian physics is "true" (observably correct). #GeneralRelativity and #SpecialRelativity didn't falsify Newtonian physics - they broadened the scope.

Maybe l'm missing some part of the thread? However, Scientific theories such as cell theory or evolution won't be falsified - though they will be extended and modified as more data is collected.
