seems that the increased number of nsfw accounts on mastodon is the result of #newtumbl sudden closing? judging by ‘tumblr refugees’ marks

newtumbl was an attempt to recreate tumblr after they killed nsfw. they had serious problems with moderation. they closed without any warning, just ‘goodbye’ (lol)

idk, nsfw accounts don't bother me, but I wish they would mark their posts with at least nsfw hashtag or by writing it in CW, just hiding pictures without any sort of warning is not cool >:(

"newTumbl" has been permanently shut down so all you horny refugees wanting a new place, checkout "reblogme.com" as a great alternative, loads of wank bank fodder to get your rocks off.

We didn’t know when, but we knew it was coming when Dean disappeared from the team mid 2021 (improvements to the site halted then), then blogs began to be erased more and more frequently and with no justification whatsoever. I hope you had the time to backup your blog.

I volunteered as a moderator on the site because I was sick of the illegal content. I found it draining and difficult going through the flagged content, so I went to ask the other mods to chat with me.
