Set a profile picture as soon as possible so we know who you are! Bonus points if you add links in your bio to pages where people might have seen you before, such as Twitter or FurAffinity.

mastodon has an unfair reputation for difficulty, and its different than twitter, but once you get used to it you will find its much more pleasant. twitter was designed around randos and enabling harassment. mastodon is not - although it still exists, people being who they are, the system doesn't make it as easy as twitter does.

Faves on twitter act like soft-retweets. twitter might decide to push that fave out to your friends list.. which means you only fave stuff that you want others to see. Here favs are just for you, and nobody else can see what they are. except whoever posted what you're faving.
