what am i doing? just improving my blog by editing the `barf` build script to fit my needs! attached is a screenshot of what i'm doing right now sitting on my couch with my #pinephone connected to the #nexdock. my goal is to get a title and subtitle to show above the navbar in the header that is generated based off the first few lines of each article's markdown file. i've already succeeded in making this work for the landing page!

@melsbells @JustineSmithies happy to see some tui app love on the #pinephone! i have daily driven the pinephone with #sxmo on #archlinuxarm for almost a year and a half (since the day i got it, november 1, 2021) and have never looked back! i use the pinephone without convergence for light tasks like playing music or browsing the fediverse, with the keyboard case for medium tasks like light school work, and #nexdock convergence for heavy tasks like writing essays for school

I have a crazy idea of turning a #SteamDeck into a full laptop via a modded #NexDock. Maybe by soldering the USB ports together? But there would need to be hardware mods to let the NexDock output 45-65w to power the Deck motherboard...

Plus I'd need like $600 to buy a 2nd Steam Deck and NexDock which I do not have at all...

another blog post is (finally) up! this time, i take a first look at using the #pinephone with the #nexdock lapdock. i've really enjoyed using the device over the last few days, and look forward to continuing to use it after i head off to college this fall.

i finally got around to writing my #nexdock first impressions article, it'll be going up on the website in the morning when i have the lighting for decent pictures.

you'll never guess what came today! the #nexdock 360 running off my linux phone is here. i reconfigured my #convergence setup to suit it, and i've ordered a phone mount, shorter usb-c cable, and a case for the lapdock. so far it's been fantastic to use. a first impressions article on the blog is coming soon!

so despite advice to get an old thinkpad and use that for school, the appeal of a #nexdock was just too much. i bought one! my deciding factor is that i recently found not 1 but 2 old x86 laptops that i can put arch on and use in case i need to use proprietary software unavailable on ARM. i'll be sure to do a first impressions review once i recieve the lapdock. i also grabbed a shorter usb-c cable and a magnetic mount for the pinephone for ease of use

i just discovered the #nexdock and i'm really excited. ever since i started using my #pinephone in desktop #convergence i've wanted to find a laptop shell that i could turn into a convergence device, and the nexdock ticks all the boxes. to any users of the linux phone and nexdock, what's your experience with the devices been like? thanks to the @linmob weekly update for introducing me to this via the purism post about it!

I am so happy I know so many talented people to help me make my stupid ideas for stuff. I'm now making a cable dock for my #SteamDeck and #NexDock so I can charge them both without cables being everywhere

Neste vídeo que você mandou há uma propaganda das pessoas que vão num café e ligam seu #smartphone nele, depois desplugam e vão embora. Estava pensando com meus botões em algo bem próximo disso: bibliotecas e faculdades que tivessem estações como essas e os visitantes apenas conectassem seu smartphone para usá-las. Poderiam até "voltar" as #LanHouses e #CyberCafes com essa proposta.

So,... mal wieder am #Librem5 mit #NexDock ... die letzten Updates von #PureOS haben dem kleinen Linux Smartphone wirklich einen starken usability boost verpasst. Endlich kann man Swipen um die Notificationleiste runter bzw. die Appliste und Taskswitcher hochzuholen. Flotter ist es gefühlt auch geworden. Super arbeit @purism !

@chrichri hm, with the #librem5 / #pureos i never had such problems (#nexdock touch).

Yeah :) the @purism #librem5 also works nicely with a original old #motorola #atrix #lapdock - convergence for ~50 bucks :) it even works better as the #nexdock since the low res lapdock.

Wenn das #Librem5 sich nicht immer wieder selbst abschalten würde, zum Beispiel wenn der #PureOS Store Apps aktualisiert oder man die Kopfhörer aussteckt, wär das Gerätchen auch ohne richtiges Powermanagement richtig toll - vor Allem mit nem #NexDock ;)

erster Tag mit dem #librem5 ... beta, an vielen stellen alpha. aber mit nem #nexdock oder hdmi dongle (...) ist das teil gar nicht so schlecht; für manches braucht man nen großen screen. @purism hat schon recht; es ist nen mini linux pc mit akku und touchscreen. aber so als daily driver smartphone ists schon noch nen weiter weg. app suggestions: flatpak/flathub (!), tootle, fractal, firefox esr, gthumb, portfolio, syncthing (gtk)

Just got my #NexDock Touch and I am loving it. More Android apps need to support tablet/desktop layouts so that I can truly live the convergence dream.
