The only winning move is to refuse to use their shitty #SaaS and instead do either #äSelfHosting or choose some #ManagedHoster that does host Alternatives ranging from #BigBlueButton to #JitsiMeet or #NextcloudTalk [which is part of @nextcloud #NextcloudHub]...

@nyquildotorg the best thing to do is stop using Zoom entirely. And, similarly, realise that every other corporate-run proprietary platform behaves the same way (or will eventually) - it's the nature of corporations. Luckily, there're great #LibreSoftware options you can buy (SaaS) for a similar or *lower* price than those corporate-owned services, or even host yourself. Some superb options include: #BigBlueButton, #JitsiMeet, and #NextCloudTalk.

On a more professional note, if #nextcloudtalk allowed to use backgrounds images, corporate or other, that would make it easier for companies and organizations to meet with externals. Just my two pence @nextcloud

Wer nur 1:1 - Videocalls braucht, für den könnte #WebCall ne bessere Option sein [ https://timur.mobi/webcall ], ansonsten ist @nextcloud mit #NextcloudTalk exzellent und mit @CollaboraOffice zusammen der Ersatz für #Office365!

Gibt es eigentlich bei Nextcloud eine Desktop-Anwendung/App für Windows?
Ich möchte ohne Browser den Chat von Teams ersetzen.

Well, #NextcloudTalk is out, no notifications come through on my phone or my partner’s, which is a non-starter… 😤 After some research, this has apparently been an ongoing issue for a while.

So looks like I’m gonna try out #matrix …

With the bills, etc. aimed at encrypted messaging, I’m gonna start testing #NextcloudTalk

I’ve been self-hosting my own #Nextcloud instance for almost 5 years, so would fit right into my maint routine. Gonna test NC Talk w/couple friends.

I’m 🤞that it performs well enough to add my whole family.

Knowing what I do, it behooves me to do what I can to help them protect themselves.

I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t at least try.

Your last nextcloud video inspired me to setup #nextcloud and #nextcloudtalk which I finally got working just yesterday.

@nextcloud Personally I used #JitsiMeet mostly for that task but only because it's more convenient for external meetings, whereas #NextcloudTalk would likely be more convenient for organizations that already have #NextcloudHub running and want the advantage of an all-encompassing suite that drops-in as replacement for #Microsoft365!

Jag har själv kört Jitsi Meet rätt mycket. Tycker det funkar okej men videon brukar frysa rätt ofta.

I'll be using #Matrix with #Element/#Fluffychat until you decide that #UnifiedPush is a thing and #privacy is actually important. Users already made #NextPush to make it easier. Is the current situation even #GDPR compliant?

This is more important than making the interface slightly prettier in Hub 3.
