Phylogenetic data via #Nextstrain shows that the surge was in part due to #Omicron overtaking #Delta. Relatively speaking, #XBB is still comparatively new and it may take a minute to see how fast it spreads.

It's really 🤬 frustrating that we don't have decent case count data because of almost exclusive use of #antigen tests and no routinized roll-out of Ag test reporting. We're 3 years in, we should be hurling resources at this thing like nothing else.
