The reason I didn't get it before was the requirement for DirecTV. Now it's the requirement for YouTube TV.

If they let us have it for the lower price without requiring YouTube TV, I'd grit my teeth and do it. But not for the higher price, and not if I need to pay for YouTube TV too.

Consequently, my answer is still "Pound sand. I'll go to a sports bar."

The NFL and XFL parent RedBird Capital have formed a joint licensing company called EverPass Media. EverPass Media will provide NFL Sunday Ticket to “out-of-home venues.” In other words, EverPass Media will license Sunday Ticket to bars.

As an #NFL fan and current subscriber to both #NFLSundayTicket and #YouTubeTV I am stoked for this. I assume the package will be available directly from YouTubeTV (as well as standalone) which will be nice. And also this should be a major upgrade in the customer service experience. DirecTV's handling of the ticket was... lacking.

@philnickinson I'm not a fan, but my oldest son is & unfortunately not for a local team. I was excited when it was thought to be Apple or Amazon as there was a hope you'd just get charged some amount for #NFLSundayTicket, but now we pretty much know it will be tied in to YouTube TV. I don't need or want to pay for a cable-like service (left that more than a decade ago). They can probably count my 💰 out at this point, but I'll see what they actually announce...

Just discussing…

Even at $300 #NFLSundayTicket is roughly 2.5x more expensive than #NBALeaguePass #MLBTV and ~3x the new #AppleTV #MLSSeasonPass.

With #YouTube playing #NFL as much as they did for the rights, those costs will go to consumers.

I’m also not sure if #DirectTV ever did a price increase? I subscribed a long time ago and it seems like $300 sounds about right even back then.

Should be interesting.

Pricing is unsurprisingly not announced. Spoiler: It won’t be cheap.
