Day 1454 #DailyPhoto #SkyWatch #Astrophotography The #RosetteNebula is 5000 light years away in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way. #NGC2244 is the young star cluster at its center that is ionizing the surrounding gas cloud. I was able to capture 45 three minute exposures before the clouds rolled in. I also integrated 20 bias, 20 dark, and 20 flat frames. #StillLearning

This is the Rosette Nebula, showing the light emitted from Ha (Hydrogen) and Sii (Sulphur) gases in the nebula.
I should probably get some more exposure time on this, but I’m running out of time! I probably won’t get much of a chance to image this one again until late next year.
