Oof. Tried to settle down to figure out a talk proposal for #ngconf this morning and…I’ve got nothing. I basically haven’t used #Angular much over the past six months or more. Not for anything complicated at least. I could talk more about cognitive load and why Angular being opinionated is a good thing, but I think other frameworks are winning that argument because people rail against a lack of freedom. Not realising of course that constraints often result in our most productive states. Analysis paralysis is a serious issue and I think there’s a weird desire in #webdev to do everything the hard way. Personally I just want to build things that work. I don’t care about the framework, and if it only gives me one way to solve a problem rather than a million, that’s actually good because then I don’t have to think about it.
My 2022:
✔️Spring Break trip to AK/Tulsa to learn about America's racial history
✔️Summer family road trip to see all the Great Lakes
✔️Christmas week in Puerto Rico for the second straight year
✔️Taught one Angular Boot Camp class, in Omaha
✔️Attended #ngConf, enjoying in-person conference life
✔️Solar panels installed, but not _yet_ turned on
✔️My employer merged with a French company
✔️Sage performed in two HS shows
✔️Saw some of my family for the first time since COVID
What will 2023 see?

@zeroadam @lightsandswirls there are a lot of great #angular resources in the community. #ngconf has a you tube channel and a lot of the speakers are on Mastodon.
Change Detection in Angular seems to be a hot topic right now, so here are a couple of pointers I found useful:
- Angular Change Detection simplified (E-Book by Brecht Billiet; registration needed): https://www.simplified.courses/free-angular-change-detection-simplified-e-book
- Change detection runs in DOM order (Segment in video of ng-conf 2022; registration needed): https://vimeo.com/showcase/9897189/video/764349346#t=10m18s
- Out of bounds change detection (Segment in video by @mgechev): https://yewtu.be/watch?v=f8sA-i6gkGQ&t=6m3s
