@webmink Not really, nowadays the EU doles out hundreds of small grants for FLOSS development thanks to #NLnet and #NGI0.

Running bug bounties like this was a big improvement over the initial idea which was "let's pay some company in the order of 10^5 € to produce an audit report and let the community go through a thousand-page PDF".

20 % sounds little and there are many ways this can go wrong but it can be tweaked along the way. They're trying.
