Not sure how I feel about this: I’m a paying #ngrok user for the only reason that I like having a static domain. ngrok just announced “static domains for our free users.” In theory I no longer need to pay… but paying helps them.

I spent the last couple of days setting up a #vapor app with #postgres, #docker and #ngrok. Frustrating at first due to the many “hanging threads”. But I told myself to be patient and learn every step, to reason and research. I finally made it work and the feeling is extremely satisfying. I now have a way to develop locally and deploy in a snap. In between, I now have a way to direct my iOS app to the real/final IP even though it’s local for now. Oh, and I can continue working offline. 🤤

Ngrok is a great productivity enabler for developers providing the ability to share POC or similar work quickly over the internet 👍

#ngrok is hilarious.
I recently "signed up" so that my sessions could last longer. I had need to run some local instances of cloud services so needed to tunnel into 2 diff endpoints. Start up 2 ngroks, done.
HOWEVER, when you *sign up* with ngrok, they cap you at 1 instance per account. 🤦🏻‍♂️
Fine then, I'll deal w/ the 2hr sessions! Remove my account association and I can fire up as many of them as I want, lol.
