1899/1903 #ArtNoveau style dress. This was examined by a #TextilesHistorian at the #NGV. The green velvet embellishments date to circa 1903, the dress itself is slightly older dating to circa 1899. It is made from Gros de Tours cream silk with machine & handmade lace. I love that more than 100 years ago someone looked at this dress & thought, "How can I update this to be more fashionable?"
