I don't know who needs to hear this, but Plex and some other free-with-ads services have a channel that does nothing but play classic #NHRA events from their archives. It is pretty great and worth seeking out when you got time to kill.

Five years after the other film & it's all fire suits and christmas trees ... and 200+ mph top speeds. I thought the anncr was Chris Economaki but it was likely Keith Jackson, who did 1969 version, also on YT.

I was a car guy when I was a kid but this even predates me by a few years. Really interesting to me to see how primitive everything is. Human starters were replaced in competition 2 years after this film by the "Christmas tree".
