After having a #Kobo #ereader for a few years, I finally got curious enough to see what #KOreader is. My main interest in it was the additional features it has for #reading #PDFs over #Nickel, the reading application Kobo readers come with by default. FYI, if you have a Libra 2 like I do, or another device that's had some hardware quirks w/ KOreader according to the installation guide, grab a nightly version until a new stable is released. The nightlies have changes that seem to fix them. 🧵

Die #Bundesregierung erhebt schwere Vorwürfe gegen #Russland wegen der Aussetzung des #Getreidedeal​s mit der #Ukraine. Dass Moskau sich seit Wochenbeginn nicht mehr an das #Abkommen halte, das ukrainische #Getreideexporte über das Schwarze Meer ermöglicht hat, zeige, dass Präsident Wladimir #Putin „erneut #Hunger als Waffe gegen die ganze Welt“ einsetze, erklärte Außenministerin Annalena #Baerbock am Montag. Zwar gefährden ausbleibende #Getreidelieferungen aus der Ukraine – wie schon die kriegsbedingten Einbrüche bei der ukrainischen Ernte – die ohnehin prekäre #Versorgung insbesondere ärmerer Länder mit #Nahrungsmittel​n zusätzlich. Das gilt allerdings auch für die #Sanktionen des Westens, die Getreide- und #Düngemittelexporte aus Russland behindern – zu Lasten des Globalen Südens. Die EU ist zwar ohne weiteres fähig, russische Ausfuhren zu ermöglichen, die sie selbst benötigt – etwa #Kernbrennstoffe und #Nickel –, unterlässt dies aber bei denjenigen russischen Exporten, die ärmere Staaten dringend brauchen. Im vergangenen Jahr kauften die EU-Staaten, im #Sanktionsrausch auf russisches #Pipelinegas verzichtend, Ländern wie #Pakistan Flüssiggas weg und trieben sie damit in bittere #Krise​n.
