For 3/4 of this novel, I willingly followed the author through this tale, enjoying the detail of her portrait of London's Highgate Cemetery and two of her supporting characters, a man with severe OCD and agoraphobia whose condition fractures his marriage and his wife, who does not leave him so much as flee for her own health. 1/3
