@PiecesOfKate Her character in Day of the Tentacle is more a cartoony child-friendly version. I personally love both versions of her, but as you wrote that's what her character in Maniac Mansion is about.
When I saw her in Maniac Mansion the very first time I became afraid of her.
For the upcoming adventure remake #NightOfTheMeteor, Dott-Edna was redesigned to look like the original Edna.

There's still a game in the works called Night of the Meteor.
It's a remake of Maniac Mansion in the art style of Day of the Tentacle.
The original lead artists from Day of the Tentacle are Larry Ahern (characters and animation) and Peter Chan (backgrounds).
