I took a hike through Discovery Park yesterday, starting at the north parking lot and going down to the West Point Lighthouse, then back. My intent was to get a shot of the lighthouse with the Olympic Mountains in the background, as well as whatever else might catch my eye.

Turns out, the lighthouse area was a great place to catch the Blue Angels practicing for the air shows this weekend!

On Monday, we had a little rain here in Seattle. That may sound redundant: Seattle's rainy, right? But we've been having a pretty dry summer so far, and the little bit that fell on Monday was very welcome.

The sky on Sunday was prelude, telling us the rain was coming. Which made for interesting photos while I was out and about with some friends.

On Monday a friend announced in group chat that she was spontaneously going on a hike; would anyone want to come with? She was leaving in 10 minutes.

As I read this I was unshowered, still in pajamas, and nursing my first coffee of the day.

Of course I went.

My original plans for yesterday didn't end up working out, but a friend messaged to see if I wanted to go to the Seattle Pride parade. She'd never been before, so that's what we did.

I particularly appreciated the two church groups I saw marching. It's good to see them out there loudly reminding the world that Christianity is not a monolith: there are large denominations out there that welcome everyone.
