Taka vrsta avtov, ki niso čisto SUV-ji, mi je v osnovi všeč in tudi #Niro me je v drugi generaciji precej bolj prepričal kot v prvi, bi pa imel kvečjemu električnega (ali klasičnega bencinskega, ki pa žal ne obstaja), ker bi me hibrid neprestano nerviral.

Anyone thinking of buying an #EV and using the #WLTP as part of their decision-making, needs to ensure they take a hefty wedge away from any stated efficiency or miles/kWh as you'll get nowhere near it when the weather is colder (or wet).

My #Kia #Niro EV in '4' spec has a WLTP of 285 miles. And I have the heat pump.

On a recent 196-mile journey, first half at between 0C and 5C, I got 3.2 miles/kWh.
Second half, as in the return trip, it was a little warmer at 8C and I achieved 3.8 miles/kWh.

Had it been under 5C for both legs I seriously believe I would need to have charged somewhere along the route. As you wouldn't want to risk running out.

As it was I arrived home with 14% SoC and 30 miles on the GoM. As low as I was comfortable with, to be honest.

WLTP is 285 miles.
In around 5C I would have been able to get a maximum of 228 miles assuming I was prepared to risk letting GoM go down to 0%.

I'm a careful driver and was never above 65mph on motorway parts of the journey.

Feeling frustrated and annoyed today. Following a few hours of trial and error, I still cannot get a comfortable driving position in my new Niro EV.

I don't know why I'm struggling, but I am.
I'll give it another go tomorrow, and will also try a wedge cushion to see if that helps.

This is not a real problem given everything else going on in the world.
But it is a problem for me, and sometimes you have to think of yourself first and others second.

The most annoying feature I've found on newer cars is the auto-braking. I drove a 2022 Kia Niro for work and it was incredibly sensitive in city driving. If the car ahead made an unexpected move and I got a little close the Niro would slam on the brakes momentarily.
