This is the first vote from the #Nashville Metro Council on the proposed stadium deal. Literally none of the council members that voted yes have any idea what the actual cost of this proposed deal will be.

Proponents say this is a non-binding vote. They will also point to this vote as argument that the deal must go forward.

I'm still going to be chasing down numbers, maybe we'll get better information, but this is a disappointing start.

This is a good article by #TennesseeLookout columnist Bruce Barry, and not just because he quoted me. But I think my question is the one everyone should be asking: "How can the council make any decision on this sort of proposed deal without knowing much better granular details about the numbers?"

The answer is that the Metro Council cannot and should not. The Council should vote no.

The East Bank Stadium Committee wrapped up its public comment meetings last night. A lot of additional information about the proposed deal came out in dribs and drabs during that process, and the Committee worked some long nights to get that info from the Mayor's office.

I will continue to oppose the stadium deal unless we get better numbers that support the claims that the new $2.1B+ deal will be better than our current (bad) lease.
