I think I’m going to read a book on #niwaki and see if anything can be done to deal with the Douglas fir and western red cedar in my yard that were pruned into 6-8 foot balls for a decade then ignored for another. They can’t really be allowed to get very tall since they’re growing close to the house on a steep slope in about 2 inches of soil and given fire risk it would be good to de-density them.
