Here's how you can set up #argocd to build nix flakes: https://github.com/argoproj/argocd-example-apps/pull/244 (based on my #nixcon talk the other day).

I did not have much fun reformatting the yaml-in-yaml, but my original setup is nix based (which solves that specific problem so nicely I forgot it's in fact a yaml-in-yaml thing). There's no catch 22, of course, but I think everyone else but me deploys argocd without nix, so they couldn't make use or the example the other way.

Wow. @nixos_org #nixcon has been such a fantastic experience. It's been exactly my cup of tea regarding hacking, nerding, and socialising. \o/ I haven't felt so much at home in a technical community for quite a while – even though it's been the first time meeting many of you in person. And the feedback I see everywhere seems to tell the same tale for others, too!

that was really fun. I'm so glad I got to see a bunch of friends again and meet more goofballs who do cursed things to the computer because it's funny. and i have a lot of optimism for the future of nix, whatever path it takes.

The worst thing is that if I knew before that I won't be attending #rustconf ... I could have attended #nixcon ...

Matrix still feels like a slow, convoluted, and tech-bloated chat. I tried a couple mobile apps because that's the primary means of chatting at #nixcon and half of them wouldn’t even deliver me the messages! The UX differs widely between the apps with Element being the most functionally stable but also extremely confusing.

Desktop story isn’t much better. It almost feels like Matrix has no idea what it wants to be.

Still convinced IRC over ZNC was the best we ever got in terms of text chats.
