NIXON RESIGNS

August 8, 1974. I was the Desk Assistant for anchor Howard K. Smith at ABC News in Washington, D.C. I am handing Mr. Smith the script for the evening's broadcast reporting the resignation of President Richard M. Nixon. It was my job to distribute the scripts. Had the foresight to ask a colleague who happened to have her still camera with her to snap the historic photo.
