Still waiting on the right time to do my pictorial walk through the National Museum of African American History and Culture. I was looking at the pics and it's definitely not Black joy so I held off for the #BlackFriday days.
There is some Black joy but you start off in the elevator going down with markings showing you going back in time to slavery. About time you make your way up, you need to decompress from what all you saw and experienced.
Skylight fountain in the Contemplative Court of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture. The quote by Frances Ellen Watkins Harper seen through the waterfall reads: "I ask no monument, proud and high to arrest the gaze of the passers-by; all that my yearning spirit craves is bury me not in a land of slaves." #nmaahc #museum #history
