I've started learning and I am a fan so far. I wrote my go-to "my second program" (a minimal parser) in about 4 hours.
It's like C and Python had a baby. A really cute baby who sleeps through the night and doesn't piss up your arm when you're changing a nappy.

Plugged a USB GPS receiver I bought ages ago into my today and it just worked. Sweet sweet sentences just pouring in through ttyUSB0. No drivers, no messing.
I had to install "screen" to test it but that was literally just sudo apt install screen.
PySerial next. I didn't even need to install that.
