After a lawsuit detailing allegations of sexual assault within the #NMSU basketball team went public Wednesday, it is reasonable to ask whether we should keep referring to this as #hazing rather than using words like trauma, sadism or assault.

Our students continue to make their rounds in Eastern #NewMexico. Today they are servicing the former USRCRN weather stations. These stations were part of a #NOAA project from the early 2010s that lost their funding. Most of the states took over the maintenance of these stations. We've been keeping them going for a while, and thanks to new funding sources, will be finally updating these stations with new sensors and communications. #NMWx #FediWx #ZiaMet #NMSU

Our students were out in the field today to instrument a new weather station in Eastern #NewMexico. We'll be back to the site soon to add the cell modem and the other sensors that we didn't have on hand. #NMWx #FediWx #ZiaMet #NMSU

TL;DR: A #UNM (#Albuquerque) student was killed in a gun battle with a #NMSU (#LasCruces) basketball player. The NMSU player fled the scene with 3 other players, and their coaches hid the shooter's gun, his cell phone, and laptop. After saying they would co-operate with police it was discovered the coaches and players had fled ABQ on the team bus. Police pulled it over 100 miles south. Player suspended from team..
