Je vois de plus en plus de contenu sans alt-text et ça me désespère... Sans pouvoir jamais me mettre à la place des personnes concernées, j'imagine ce que ça doit être d'avoir un contenu inaccessible, le sentiment d'être isolé·e·s parce que des gens ne pensent pas à elles.

I think Mastodon would be a better place once we can properly balance extremes and temper ardour with tolerance.
Eg. people have said, #NoAltTextNoBoost , an adversarial approach. I try to reply to the toot to remind (and suggest some #AltText), but it takes time and effort, and sometimes people (including me) can't be bothered to respond to each alttext-less post, and I'm glad there's the NoAltTextNoBoost movement. We shouldn't use it to bully, though.

This made me laugh — but it’s true.

I am stable for the time being, but a rapid disease progression in my 40s had me losing my vision and most reading capabilities, especially small text (phones and horrendously, most paper books).

Alt text is really helpful — and it can also be fun to write.

That's fantastic! Very happy you got the grant as I use and love #OrganicMaps daily.

I'd love to boost this, but can't on principal as the screenshot has no alt text. That the toot relies on people understanding the text in the screenshot, so you're really shooting yourself in the foot here, locking out people with #accessibility needs.
