Currently there‘s talking about #amdgpu freezes in kernel >= 6.1 while gaming.
Any experience with those freezes on #NobaraLinux ?

Fedora 38 ist raus, David Wolski stellt auf @heiseonline die Neuerungen vor. Zum Beispiel ist #Gnome 44 dabei. #NobaraLinux hat im Discord derweil angekündigt, den Support für Nobara 36 einzustellen. Ein Update auf Nobara 37 ist daher angeraten. Version 38 wird nun auf der Basis von #Fedora 38 vorbereitet.

If you are like me and not playing the latest AAA games all the time, gaming on Linux is pretty awesome. I was able to install Nobara Linux, run some updates and package installs for XBOX Controller support, and everything is working darn near perfectly. Heck, even emulating some Switch games works quite well!

Da wo andere das Thema #Gaming mit einem vorinstallierten #Steam-Client abhaken, fängt #NobaraLinux erst an: Alles dabei, was man für Games, Livestreams, Videoschnitt usw. braucht. Auch so nette Details wie die richtigen Plugins für #OBS, getrennte #pipewire-Audioquellen für Anwendungen, um Sachen einzeln stumm zu schalten. Was man sonst eben erst selbst konfigurieren müsste.

Laptop is low on space and I want to play with Linux.

1. Buy M.2 drive
2. Take laptop apart
3. Realize 2nd bay is 2.5"
4. Find spare drive, clone Windows to it, replace M.2
5. Install #Nobara #NobaraLinux (a Red Hat adjacent Fedora-ish distribution geared towards opinionated gaming defaults)

Posting from Linux now, impatiently waiting for Nvidia driver install to complete.

I'm running #GtaV on #NobaraLinux. Managed to using this distro. BUT, it took me forever to load the game.... And with lower FPS of course. 😂

Now that I've settled in to using Nobara for a few weeks and tested that everything works, it's time to get real down and dirty with enhancing it. Yes, even further than the customizations it already has! :ablobcatrainbow:

Fedora and it's installation of LLMV is destroying every single project I'm trying to work on.

I love #NobaraLinux but it's time to hop because I can't even build languages from source that use LLVM and need count but they deleted it???
