Cover crops growing at the end of October to now, two months on. Some cardboard has been temporarily laid underneath to cover kill small areas of ryegrass. The other cover crops were frost killed. A layer of mulching compost was added to the newly marked out beds (75 cm wide with 25 cm paths). I’ll add living pathways.

January & February are going to drag.

My green manures have mostly been frost killed so I’ve marked out the beds for 2023 (75 cm wide with a 25 cm path in between). Bed lengths will vary on the plot between 5 & 8m.

Three beds are set aside for growing Yacon as a replant perennial. I’ll have another 15 beds to play around with.

Green manures were growing well into the first week of December. 10 nights of freezing temperatures (-4°C to -9°C) have knocked them back. Photographed after today’s thaw.
