In fact, why don't we all just *stop* using corporate bought names for places. Staples Centre? Nope! Rogers Dome? No way!
#billionaires and #brands only exist if we #believe in them.
#billionaires #brands #believe #resist #nobillionaires #nobrands #takeitback
@z theoretically exactly what it says on the tin, "communicate without brand naming or recognition"
pretend they don't exist at all in convos with brand groupies, quietly refuse to say the name "properly" until they give up correcting you, censor all branding completely in pics, avoid being free mindshare and advertising for moneygrubbing megacorps, kinda sorta birds aren't real energy, humor is a tool for spreading the practice, it works best if you have viable alternatives to suggest, eg "oh is that , who makes the knock offs of ?"
so, functionally this is distinct from good uses of marketing-adjacent realities, like "everyone should know the names of your local family-run sustainable businesses" and "say the names of the artist" and such, this is about resisting the kyriarchy with mindful language rather than...idk, killing commerce or objectively necessary stuff that is done with future-consideration for the actual real world impact.
#NoBrands is anti-advertising anti-consumer anti-influencer, pro-worker pro-artisan pro-local.
...want more or is that good?
