And 'No private cars' means society can focus resources on more efficient EV public transport systems, bicycling in cities, etc.
The upstream ecological costs of manufacturing 80 million +\- motor vehicles per year is unsustainable.
EVs make the local air cleaner.

Epic day biking the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park. Bikes are allowed before the road opens to cars, which will be any day now. Absolutely spectacular. 3200 ft elevation gain in 16 miles from Avalanche Trail head to Logan Pass. We need to retrofit our towns and cities for people not cars. More trains, more walkways, more bike roads, more mixed use and reasonably denser settlements.

@upliftingtoots Reminds me of a vacation I took to Merida, Mexico. Sunday was the day for the “bicycle parade” and all the main streets were closed to cars and open to bicycles. All kinds of bikes were available for hire for just a few pesos and my husband I rode funny, old bicycles for hours. It was so awesome to see families, older folks, groups of teens and young people just pedaling around and enjoying themselves. So many smiles and laughs. #bicycling #BicycleParade #NoCars

I know that this opinion will not be popular around here but I'm just going to throw it out there.
JFK Drive is NOT the Embarcadero.
If you ban cars on the Embarcadero which serves as a feeder around downtown to the east and north of The City that will just cause congestion and gridlock downtown.
As much as the anti-car faction would like, SF is NOT Venice and it never will be.
