So I have a spare pi3 laying around and just discovered Node Red. Anyone here use #NodeRed? What do you have set up with it? #RasperryPi

Following Andrew Robinson's talk #OSHcamp #Wuthering Bytes there's an Interesting thread on (trying) to use #Matter with #NodeRED

I'm starting to update all my VDL #ACARS stations to the latest #dumpvdl2 build (2.3.0)
You must also update #libacars for this new version.
Building both from source is the go.
Required versions are: dumpvdl2 2.3.0 (libacars 2.2.0)
Of course the big reason to do the update is to decode the OHMA messages from #Boeing #737MAX aircraft.
I see some routing info in there which is always nice.
Note: Im getting invalid #JSON via my #nodered. Looking into it.

@codechimp You convinced me to test mine. 10W Not great. Klipsch Sub-12HG Synergy. Then I started testing other items. Chromecast 2W, Xumo 1W, Nintendo Switch 5W. I guess I really should turn all this stuff *off* when it's not in use. Now I bet I'm doing to go off and come up with some super complicated #nodered flow to decide when this stuff should have power. To put all that into a tangible perspective. 20W for 24h/day @ $0.14/kWh = ~$25/year (+ paying to cool the home to offset some heat)
@obernabeu @osckar @DavidOliMar @amarzar @lynze @PabloAsekas esto suena genial. Me gustaría aprender a integrar Alexa con #nodered
@slamp @frenck ...Mastodon is not an isolated risk - every service and platform that is not under one's control can be shut at any moment and without warning - even #homeassisant ⤵️ This is exactly why we chose to abandon #cloudbased #iot after more than 3 years of dev and retrofitted everything to HA and #nodered . It's how the #biz in the world works.

Hey CodingGeeks : Jeg har lige - eller rettere : Min søn - opdaget #NodeRed, det ser meget smart ud; nogen herinde, der har brugt det til automatisering på windows servere, og blev I glad for det?
Shellyt otettu haltuun. Onpahan kötöstelyä talveksi kun automatisoin kaiken.

The results are transferred from #TTN to my #HA @homeassistant instance thanks to #MQTT and #NodeRED !
I get a #telegram bot alert for each #radiosonde launch my station picks up.
(I tap into the chasemap #json with #nodered )
It still blows my mind how well the @vk5qi #auto_rx works with the #airspy R2, good #antenna and #lna

Managed to update my "scrape local council bin day web page" Node-RED flow so that
if
the bin day is "Today"
and
I have scanned an RFID sticker to say that bin has been emptied already
then
extract the next bin date and colour, and send that to my ulanzi pixelclock.
No excuse for missing "bins which are collected the day after another bin" anymore 😉

Well, I got #nodered updated to 3.0, which I've been putting off because a lot of important things run on nodered that I haven't done in #python. But, I did get git setup and user authentication which makes nodered a greatly increases its use as a production platform. Now time for some Devil's Mountain and to see what's happening on #truth for funzies.
Ooo. I have made 2 lifechanging discoveries. 1) VSI has RabbitMQ available for #openvms. All PraetorTEL's intra-office message passing is MQTT and OpenVMS is fucking rock solid. Uptime in decades! And 2) git integration with #nodered. Awww yeah. I'm going to setup my umbrella and sit outside and set that up :D
AT&T has a team of 15 people who do nothing but work on their SMSC, and lil ol' me can pull off something pretty cool in a very short amount of time that is production ready using #nodered as part of my workflow.
So when doing #telco experiments, #nodered is a really, really good tool for that. It's dismissed as a toy, but it's really powerful. There is NOTHING simple with telephony. Nothing. I'm writing my own SMSC, and I can do that module, by module, by module and kinda sketch out this idea of something very complex, and later go back and write it in something more scalable like python. 99.999% of everything in a modern telco is message based, and nodered handles that like a boss.
I'm just as pedantic about my #nodered flows as I am about coding. They have to look pretty. How it works? But, you can send me pictures now! 1.817.725.PRAE :D Just be sure to put who you are and why I'm pretty in your message.
