The web reacts to ChatGPT with new meta tags!

#ChatGPT, like a parasite, leverages the best web content without giving back to the content creators.
But now, content creators are starting to react. The first significant response comes from #DevianArt, an online community of artists. By default, DevianArt marks all art on their website with 2 new meta tags: "noai" and "noimageai." However, artists are free to opt-out and make their art available to machine learning systems.

the average artist is extremely averse to ai generation and do not care to understand about how image de-noising "actually works" HOWEVER i do still think #deviantart goofed SUPREMELY here by introducing the #noAI #noImageAI protocol so fucking poorly. Literally shouldve led with "hey we r working to make a standard tag that tells image trawlers to fuck off and will take a little bit to implement" instead of saying "WE DID AN AI AND OPTING IN IS DEFAULT :)"
