A #noisyminor in #brightonEast taking in the sun yesterday, also in mid-hop on the building guttering (pic 3)…
I observed this bird chasing (and snacking on!) insects in the grass near a busy road and footpath.
Was wary of my presence so couldn’t get too close, but it hung about long enough for a few pics at least!

A curious #noisyminor perched itself on the table at the park the other day, #eaststkilda, whilst stopped for coffee and nature gazing.
I’d say, looking for crumbs from my fresh muffin I was scoffing at the time!
It was playing with three others prior.
Another park; #CaulfieldPark later… and #ducks were out paddling in the rain.
Also a trusting #pigeon in #boxhill just yesterday.

This little crazy critter was pecking at the dried sap on this gumtree.
It’s a #noisyminor. I love them!
It hung upside down for a good while and flitted about flapping its wings, though was in full control and a bird on a mission!
Noticed too, this gum tree had a bulge near the base of its trunk. See last pic. Some may think it an anomaly or even unsightly. I thought it unique and quite appealing.

But it returned a few metres away in a small tree as I sat on the grass enjoying this summers day.
The noisy miner (Manorina melanocephala) is a bird in the honeyeater family, Meliphagidae, and is endemic to eastern and southeastern Australia.

Spied on this young (maybe a few weeks out of the nest?) ‘Noisy Minor’. It was trying to settle and sleep.
Managed to get up high, quality not so good as shot with iPhone. But watched this little fella sit, preen and snooze for about ten minutes.
The tree? I think it was a lemon, yellow bottlebrush? Happy to be corrected on that.
