At the time #ActivityPub became recommendation the people involved knew that important improvements were required in future iterations. This just never happened. Specs never evolved and projects created their own solutions.
For many years, what's now #Streams and #Nomad protocol, created by @mike has had nomadic identity. Why this hasn't picked up by other projects? Idk, getting such adoption is likely just as hard as evolving specs.

Though at the same time, even in one machine, you may have a need. All depends on your workload and what you trying to do. Complexity may be less.
That said I wouldn't ever say run #k8s for one machine. 😅 Even though you can. Whereas, with #nomad, I tend to favor even for one machine. Again all depends on what you trying to do.

#Portainer can help a lot with simplicity. Especially if you all in on containers.
Personally, I taken immense advantage #nomad is a distributed job orchestrator. First and foremost.
It's allowed to schedule jobs for containers, microvm, system containers, wasm, and systemd spawn. And that's "only" the stuff I messed with throughout the years. 🙃 All thanks to it's versatility. 😅

But I also haven't been able to open source most of it due to proprietary constraints on where I built these things. It just falls into this limbo of code that can benefit, but can't be shared yet. A BUSL essentially with almost no time constraint. 🫠

The alpine village of St Arnaud (named for a French marshal) sits at the northern end of Lake Rotoiti (📷1). It serves as a gateway for visitors tramping or skiing (Rainbow Ski Area) in Nelson Lakes National Park. Modern homes line Glacier Tce, which has views over the lake (📷2). Pleasant drive through hop-growing Motueka Valley, then following Buller River (📷1) on St Arnaud-Kawatiri Hwy into #Tasman’s Nelson Lakes NP, which sits within northernmost ranges of Southern Alps. Lake Rotoiti is one of two larger lakes, carved out by glaciers during the last ice age. There’s a serviced DOC camp at Kerr Bay (📷2-4), close to alpine village of St Arnaud.
