#NoMowMay photos. Bees particularly seemed to like the Muscari which appeared during April. Think there were more of these this year following on from NoMowMay 22.

I'm a little annoyed at myself, I collected a whole bunch of seeds for different grasses (bunny tails, quaking grass, etc) and intended to set up a raised area in the garden to grow them all in, but never got round to it. Suspect it might be too late in the year to start now.

How to procrastinate in the morning and get your active minutes for the day : mow about 3/4 of the yard, that after no mow May (and part of June) had above the knee grass.

Doing it in the morning because it's cooler, and that area is in the shadow. The other 1/4 will wait to the evening when it's in the shadow.

In our household #NoMowMay came immediately after #CantBeArsedApril and is followed by #JustLeaveItJuly.
It's a good job we don't have young kids anymore. We could lose several in this lot.

This #NoMowMay has been great! I've made dandelion wine, plucked some dandelion stems and tall grass for weaving, made some forget-me-not flower crowns, and said hello to many bumblebees.

One thing I like to do during #NoMowMay is walk around to find new places for gardens or trees.
For example, the milkweed in one area has extended the beds by 6 feet! A low growth area among tall grasses in the sun could be a new home for an oak or other slow growing, sun loving tree.
It also showcases where invasive species are.
This is #stewardship of an environment. It also happens to be my backyard in a suburban area of a small city🤦 & I am often educating neighbors.
