I gifted a bunch of my old suits, ties, and cufflinks yesterday to a #transmasc friend who has a nearly identical build to old me. They had struggled to get things that fit them but my old suits and dress shirts are just their size (it's actually kind of scary how exact our measurements are - long lost twin?).

It's a warm fuzzy feeling handing off your old self's clothes to a fellow #trans person (incidentally, londonlgbtqcentre.org on the South Bank has a trans clothing exchange). They rock those suits and ties way better than I ever did. They have the perfect look and poise for them. I confess as soon as I met them, I wanted to see how they'd look in a tux. So not all altruistic from me.

Though then I'm in a position of explaining how to tie neckties (which I mostly remember the different knots), cravats (erm, yeah I think), bow ties (ah fuck not that again, to youtube again) and cufflinks (okay, back to easy now but crazy how much assumed-knowledge you pick up with your AGAB).

I'm glad I gave them to a friend who wears them so well and makes them happy rather than sell them. This is worth so much more. Besides, we've all got to look out for each other, right?
