I'm seeing that it's #NonBinaryPeoplesDay so I'll take the opportunity to say, splitting single occupant #bathrooms into "men's" and "women's" is weird, right? Even if seeing someone of a different gender in a bathroom makes your brain short circuit, who are they bothering by being in there by themselves? And yet, based solely on which stick figure is on the door, it's agreed that there's a "wrong" room for each person to use. Like I said, it's just weird is all.

Quick tip for anyone else who has trouble remembering the colour order on the non-binary flag:

They are in reverse alphabetical order.

I've been #Queer #NonBinary and/or #Genderqueer self-identifying for less than a year now, using the “he/they” pronouns… Yes it’s confusing even to me, the whole point is not feeling like I fit in a specific binary label and all the social norms attached to it.

Hello fellow #nonbinary folks! My partner and I will be christening our new grill with beef ribs tonight. I hope your #nonbinarypeoplesday is at least that awesome!

My personal experience of non-binary-ness is:
* 95% of my time is spent in a not-gendered state where I do not feel affiliated with or alligned with any type of gendering separation.
* The rest may include characteristics of either binary gender, but not strongly and usually not outside of those specific characteristics.

Two years ago, I came out as non-binary. I wrote this piece to describe my own lifelong struggles with identity and how I found myself freed by realizing I didn’t have to prescribe to the masculine norms I grew up despising.
