Unfortunately though where there are controlling behaviours and living with complex mental health realities, #nondisabled #socialworkers could have a place if they chose to work with #disabled people. We know you like smiles, tea and a chat. It's not enough this time. Do better.

Time and time again, the absolute #disabledexperience is what we build dispite the #nondisabled structures in place, including #SocialWork , NOT because of it. Too many of us know what use and support and allyship you are to us. We've read your reports and laughed and cried at them. I'm beginning to reject your fiction. I prefer #DisabledJoy , ingenuity - and sharing, at least with my fellow disabled citizens, workers and disabled community, the suffering left behind when you don't help.

How many #disabled people are currently or have been held back by the #nondisabled double-standard for their independence? To access housing I didn't get I've been asked how well I can cook. Well enough to eat. I mean, I could just as well ask a Social Worker, how well can YOU cook? Gordon Ramsay over here whom my omelettes and ready meals don't satisfy, isn't that my fucking business in my kitchen, thank you? It's such an unknowable invisible threshold of being "abled enough".

The #nondisabled establishment, without a clue, will always point out the obvious. It's their weapon and their protection to an extent. The #nuance is ours as #disabled people. That's perhaps as beautiful as it is frustrating.
