Saturday is parkrun day. Joined the Nonsuch 5K Your Way crew and walked the course with a fellow Nordic Walker. Started in the rain, finished in the sun.

The post-walk egg & bacon muffin and coffee were excellent 😄

Did a bit of Jeffing at #parkrun #today. Didn't seem to make much difference to my overall time, just exhausted me at the end, as you can see by the photo of me approaching the finish 😄 #fatigue

Turnout this week was down from the usual 800ish to 637, possibly due to the forecast storms (which didn't materialise). At least it meant my position was in the low 600s (617) rather than high 700s

Great turnout at my local #parkrun #today, with more than 700 participants running, jogging, walking or pushing their way around the course. I was delighted to #walk with one of my #NordicWalking friends on her first parkrun!
Being the last Saturday in the month it was also 5K Your Way - Move Against Cancer day and I was wearing my light blue colours along with many others supporting this great charity.

I was told about a lovely app #today called Merlin Bird Id at my weekly #NordicWalking class. We discovered that in the park where we #walk there were Robins, Blackbirds, Sparrows, Wrens, Blackcaps and Crows. Probably more, but the park is near the Heathrow flight path ✈️ as well as numerous commuting helicopters 🚁 and the app became overwhelmed with sounds.

Just tried it in my garden and it's identified House Sparrows, Robins and Blackbirds 🐦‍⬛

We had a a fitness celebrity Joe Wicks visit my local Nonsuch park this morning for a 5k jog/walk. The event attracted a huge turn out and was really successful. It was joyous to see so many join in 🙂 #joewicks #Nonsuchpark

So, #today I spent some time #volunteering at #nonsuchpark junior #parkrun . It's always a lovely event and all over within half-an-hour. Afterwards I did a little #map and #compass preparation for some training I'm about to deliver to some friends who enjoy #nordicwalking but lack confidence and skills to navigate #outdoors . Then it was back home for #coffee and a #croissant ☕🥐

I was #parkwalker at #parkrun today and it was also my 25th time volunteering.
