🧵 In the past wk, I have finally figured out what has been bugging me for the last 5 yrs. I do not “belong” at school. Not that I shouldn’t be here, getting an education, but that I cannot make connections w/anyone because the people my age are profs & the young people are, well, too young. I never thought about it until I started my internship & got to work in the “adult” world again. I am the only student in the dept. The only student who enters the bldg.

I started my Bachelor's program in Sociology today. And I've still got two weeks left in my classes for my Associate's in Public Health. These two weeks feel overwhelming but I'm doing my best to break it down into manageable chunks of work each day. And yeah, it's a lot, but I'm also really excited about all of it. Stay in school, ffs. You think it’s a lot of work now, but when you are in your 50s, having hot flashes, and raising 4 teenagers it will be far worse than you can imagine. And lonely too. You can’t make close friends with people your kids age. They just don’t go for that.

I’m so motivational. :)

Only one more grade to come in this semester, but so far I'm getting A's in all the graded classes. I'm exhausted and relieved and feeling like a job well done all at the same time.
