What about the disengaged? Perplexingly, in the more democratic countries (🇪🇪🇩🇪🇵🇱🇸🇪), the disengaged reject undemocratic candidates at only 1/3 to 1/2 the rate of the political mainstream, with somewhat higher rates in Spain. #nonvoters

It is getting more and more difficult to research #Nonvoters with survey data. In the German election study (GLES), less than 5 percent of eligible respondents said they did not vote -- when, in fact, 24 percent of citizens did not vote. Overreporting and, worse, selection effects make it hard to learn about nonvoters. #PoliSci

Anybody done (or know of) recent #surveyresearch or #polling in #Texas or #Florida with #nonvoters ?

#redstate #nonvoters: every one of you who turns out to cast a futile #vote for a #democrat is another bundle of money the nation republican party has to spend next election in your state.

Even if you can't win locally, you force them to spend resources to defend what they have.

And who knows? At the end of the day there might be enough of you to actually change the outcome, if you only show up. Get out there!
