Plus, a neighbor with a battery system powerful enough to run a fridge and a blender took my garden produce--getting ready to go back in my own lifeless fridge--and turned it into gazpacho. I have been told to expect a delivery of cold, wet, savory dinner at 6.

Still wicked hot around here but things are looking up.

We still don't have power, but the neighbors (with the quiet, not-diesel generator) just brought me a breakfast burrito, so I'm doing ok.

Power company estimates they'll get our line restored by midnight (14 hours from now), and the storms that got us into this mess blew the hottest of the hot weather away, so it's only regular-August heat and not apocalypse-August heat.

The power is still out. Duke Energy has still not come out, so they are still likely unaware that there is a tree tottering over a (evacuated) house, being held up by the power line itself.

Will my sanity outlast the diesel? Or will the line snap, drop the tree, and make things go boom?

Well, bad weather is back again, thunderstorms, rain and strong winds are going. Knocked out the power, and seeing the wind and feeling the mix of cold and hot air outside, I feel almost certain there will be a tornado at some point.

Currently at the moment trying to shut down my NAS'es since they are connected to a UPS since I don't think we will be getting power back till sometime tomorrow if no tornado comes through that is.

We are approaching 72 hours with #NoPower and no estimated time of return. We were among the first to loose power and crews could check a line because of flooding. The road was fixed the next day. Also that day more widespread damage occurred in and around Portland Oregon. This is the second time this year we have lost power for at least 72 hours. #PGE Utilities nor am I prepared for the impacts of #ClimateChange.
