tonight: episode 4 of Fortress Britain with Alice Roberts (aired 15/4/23, channel4.com/programmes/fortre ).

Having done three invasions that failed to materialise the series finished out with The One That Did™, the Last One That Did™ – the Norman Conquest. Not the initial battle but the slow grind of consolidating power afterwards: the debacle of the coronation, the Harrying of the North, Hereward the Wake etc.

Today is 01122022 which, in base 3, is 1196. Exactly 130 years after the Norman Conquest of England in 1066. 130, in base 10, is 11211 in base 3. A palindrome. Coincidence? I think not. Watch out for arrows.

Perspectives of the Anglo-Saxons, the French, the Normans, and the various populations living in Wales and Scotland are all available for perusal. Recent historical studies of this time period have provided opinions and viewpoints that were once ignored.... worldhistory.org/review/301/co
