For anyone who is making beats and has access to a Norns, the script Cyrene by 21echoes is really interesting.

It's a port of the Mutable Instruments Grids code, which auto-generates beat patterns. The author has added a new shuffle mode which takes normal drum machine (or human-played) shuffle to a whole different level. You can get some nice dragged-style beats and other unusual rhythms.

I made a DIY Norns a while back, and a matching Grid.

I'm very close to having automated the whole process of writing a lua script for #Norns from the basis of a #supercollider SynthDef. Hugely important for a lazy person like myself who just want patches running on the Norns as easily as possible.

I made a quick and rough hard-fork of #monome #norns #SuperCollider architecture to allow much easier (for me at least) development of SuperCollider engines for that wonderful little device.

The forestscapes project aims to explore and document generative arts-based methods for recomposing collections of sound materials to support “collective inquiry” into forests as living cultural landscapes.

As a winter project, I learned more about lua scripting and the #norns ecosystem (a #raspberrypi based #music platform).

I modified a looper to have three voices with high, mid, and low pitches. It takes simple sounds and makes the more complex.
