The layout (and writing) for the forthcoming #BluePlanet #Recontact #ttrpg is gorgeous. Having run it several times at conventions, I’m looking forward to this being released properly. Also pondering whether to do a third instalment of the convention game series I’ve being running at #NorthStarCon next year.

@FortiterGames I bounced off STA until the Tricorder version, ran Dune but was winging it a bit, but enjoyed running STA at #NorthStarCon. Reading Achtung! Cthulhu at the moment and it’s the clearest statement of the rules that I’ve seen. I’m starting to get it but - a bit like Blades in the Dark - it’s taken some time to grok.

When preparing for #northstarcon, I created a crib sheet for the #2d20 Star Trek Adventures #ttrpg because that’s one of the ways I best learn a system.

Building a cribsheet for the #startrekadventures #ttrpg in preparation for #NorthStarCon in a fortnight. I find I need to do something like this to get a game system to stick in my head. I'm hacking my #2d20Dune sheet; it's interesting how the abstraction in Dune, although more simple, makes the game harder to grok.

Interested how others prepare for running a game for the first time.

Trying to decide a second game for #NorthStarCon SF #TTRPG in May. I had initially thought that it may be ‘Stealing Stories for the Devil’ (SF Heists), however it didn’t sing ‘play me’ when I read it. Currently eyeing up Svalbard (which the Lovecraft link turned down a bit) and Things from the Flood. Well, that what I was looking at until remembered I’ve never run the Dr Who RPG. And then an idea about a mash up of Outland and Fria Ligan’s Blade Runner RPG has started to germinate. #choices

@Mytholder My sympathies. I did all the game booking and organisation for the #NorthStarCon last year and COVID meant I couldn’t go because I didn’t want to put others at risk. It’s really frustrating, hope you get well soon.

@evilgaz @Sacha I wonder how much tailored conventions like #Revelation and #NorthStarCon are a variation on this?

Reflecting back on the last year, there has been too little #travellerrpg for me. No #Travcon and missing #NorthStarCon due to COVID in the family are factors. I guess I need to make some plans for 2023. Or perhaps persuade @eladrin to run one of his two scenarios I’ve managed to miss so far.
